What is a Carrara Marble fireplace?
If you’ve been looking at marble fireplaces, you’ve no doubt come across Carrara marble fireplaces and wondered what they are.
Carrara marble is one of the most popular types of marble used in today’s building and decor. It is typically white or a light blue-grey in colour with a soft and feathery vein running through, making it a very attractive option for kitchen worktops, staircases, bathrooms and fireplaces.
While some types of Carrara marble can come with an expensive price tag, there are certain forms of Carrara marble that are incredibly affordable.
This is because the term ‘Carrara marble’ simply refers to any type of marble mined in the area of the same name in Italy. So, there are a few stone types it covers:
- Carrara Marble
- Calacatta Marble
- Statuary/ Statuario Marble.
The latter two feature a much brighter white colour, with a stronger and more varied grain. Carrara marble, meanwhile, is softer in appearance and often less expensive, which makes it perfect for our homes. Carrara is no less beautiful to look at, either – it’s more affordable cost is down to the fact that it is easier to quarry, so generally easier to get hold of.

Where are your marble fireplace made?
We make all of the marble fireplace we offer in our own workshops in China. We employ a small team of highly experienced stone masons and joiners to make our marble fireplace. They carefully select the marble materials to make each fireplace surround and mantel, use highly accurate saws to prepare the component pieces required and then it's on the bench to lovingly handcraft each mantel.
Can I change the size or material of a fireplace?
Yes, all of our standard marble fireplace design can be made in different size and in any readily available marble and limestone.

What is your package for marble fireplace mantel?
Our marble fireplace mantel mostly consists of several individual component and parts which will be assembed in jobsite by professional fireplace installer. They will be packed by fumigated strong wooden crate for international shipment and domestic delivery.

What is the dimension or size for fireplace mantel to fit my space?
Our fireplace mantel is available with three standard dimension and size, they can suit most firebox dimension and room sizes. Choosing the right size fireplace mantel will involves balancing your room size with your firebox. A large dimensional fireplace mantel typically complements a big firebox and helps to fill the space in a larger room. A smaller fireplace mantel and surround is ideal for compact rooms. Making a right decision of the dimension and size of fireplace mantel can help to keep the space feeling balanced and uncluttered without overwhelming the area. Please consult with us for the CAD line drawing and specification for each fireplace mantel to ensure the surround opening will accommodate your firebox.

Do you supply inner panels for your fireplace mantel and surround?
Yes, each fireplace mantel comes with optional three matching inner panels which are made from the same stone material and color as the mantel and surround. These inner panels are cut on site to fit neatly around your firebox and come up to the mantel surround.
Filler panels/inner panels/inner surround are the flat pieces that come up to your firebox from the mantel surround. There are 3 inner surround panels with our fireplace mantels to fit around the firebox taht are cut to size in field. These are flat pieces that come up to the firebox. Filler panels are optional and only required as needed.
Dimension A: 10" tall x inner width of the opening x 1" thick
Dimension B: 8" tall x inner width of the opening x 1" thick
All filler panels are typically made from the same stone material and color as the actural fireplace mantel, or diferent stone material as required. We usually send standard sized filler panels to be cut on site by the installer for the best fit.
What is a hearth for fireplace?
A fireplace hearth refers to the floor area directly in front of your fireplace. They are basically made of non-combustible materials like natural stone including granite, marble, sandstone, limestone, travertine and tiles. Whether you need a hearth depends on your city's building codes and the type of your firebox, it is important to check with your firebox manufacturer, contractor, or installer about local requirement.
The no hearh look is popular today but must always meet local codes. All exposed edges-one front long side and two short sides have polishing edge finishes of eased, beveled and bullnose or customized.
